LCUP STUDENT USE OF GMETRIX SYSTEM: AN EVALUATION OF USEFULNESS, EASE OF USE, AND SATISFACTION

Web-based assessment tools are potentially powerful for enhancing learning experiences and improving the learning outcomes of students. This study describes a Web-based tool used for skills practice and summative assessment. The main thrust of this study is to examine the impact of GMetrix Skills Management System (SMS) to the students of La Consolacion University Philippines (LCUP). Data for this study were collected from a sample of 118 students of LCUP from different courses with different level. The survey data strongly indicated that most students agreed that they found GMetrix SMS easy to use. They also agreed that the usefulness of GMetrix SMS was highly evident. According to ISO 9126 – Software Quality Characteristics, usability only exists with regard to functionality and refers to the ease of use for a given function. The ability to learn how to use a system (learnability) is also a major sub characteristics of usability. Furthermore, most students believed that the use GMetrix SMS was very important in terms of their learning.
