POLICIES AND PROCEDURES TO ENHANCE INCIDENT REPORTING AND MITIGATE NURSING ERRORS

Background: Hospitals have been largely focused on increasing patient safety for the past fifteen (15) years. Errors still happen at a significant rate in addition to this. Loss of focus, an uncomfortable working environment, interpersonal inadequacies, and overburdening activities are all variables that may contribute to errors, according to the data gathered.

Methods: The research design used in the study was descriptive-correlational. This investigation was carried out in a particular Bulacan medical facility. In Malolos, Bulacan, the facility is the biggest secondary hospital. There are 78 nurses in the study’s entire sample.

Result: The proposed program, titled “Nursing Policies and Procedures,” aims to enhance incident reporting to mitigate nursing errors, and according to the result of the behavior factor.

Conclusion: Drawing from respondent input and other sources, the researchers devised strategies to enhance incident reporting, ultimately benefiting nursing services, education, and research.
