DEVELOPMENT AND ACCEPTABILITY EVALUATION OF MULTI-PURPOSE HAND TOOL

A multi-purpose hand tool, a versatile and innovative instrument designed to streamline a wide array of woodworking and metalworking tasks. The study aimed to develop, fabricate, test, and evaluate a multi-purpose hand tool in terms of its technical features. It also sought to assess the tool’s acceptability based on design, efficiency, effectiveness, functionality, and features. The study employed the developmental-descriptive research method, using a researcher-made instrument administered to 16 respondents from the woodworking and metalworking industries. The instrument was designed to evaluate the hand tool’s acceptability concerning design, efficiency, effectiveness, functionality, and features. The study’s results revealed that the multi-purpose hand tool successfully manifested its technical features, including ease of assembly and disassembly, interchangeable attachments, and multi-functionality, as it meticulously adhered to its planned design, workflow, and fabrication process. Test trials demonstrated that the hand tool could be assembled and disassembled in a minute or less, enabling it to perform a variety of wood and metal tasks. Furthermore, the study indicated that the hand tool achieved very high acceptability ratings across the identified parameters. It is recommended to explore alternative materials for constructing future versions of the hand tool and to consider providing additional attachments tailored to other trades and safety features to further enhance the project.

A STUDY ON BREAST CANCER CONSIDERING INDIAN WOMEN

RESIDENTS’ PERCEIVED SUSTAINABILITY IMPACT ASSESSMENT OF THE NORTH-SOUTH RAILWAY PROJECT: THE CASE OF MALOLOS, BULACAN

This study used a quantitative approach to assess the perception of the residents regarding the construction of North-South Railways Project (NSRP), and how it will sustainably affect the environment. It utilized a survey questionnaire that is collected from the chosen respondents. The study is guided by the Triple Bottom Line Theory which evaluates the three pillars of sustainability, such as the economic, social, and environmental challenges that clearly define the key transportation issue affecting the community of Malolos, Bulacan. Demographic profiles were also determined such as age, gender, employment status, educational attainment, and years of residency. The statistical methods such as ANOVA were used to determine whether there is a significant difference in the perceptions of the respondents in sustainability when they are grouped according to profile. The result of this research could be valuable to people as it analyzes the numerous benefits of NSRP to ease the life of commuters as well as reduce the cost of transportation which positively impacts the economy and maximize the resources from the environment that could result in a better quality of life.

LET EARTH BREATHE: A REVIEW ON THE POTENTIAL EFFECTS OF IMPLEMENTING THE USAGE OF SALINITY GRADIENT ENERGY TO ADDRESS CARBON EMISSIONS

The world alone cannot thrive and relies on energy production and expenditure. In an ideal scenario, all the energy produced worldwide would be clean and renewable; however, that is not the case. Most developed countries have already taken steps toward a green future, except developing countries that rely heavily on fossil fuels. Determining the costs of transitioning to a purely renewable energy-reliant future is essential for a developing country like the Philippines. One viable source of renewable energy sources is salinity gradient energy. The study aims to identify if salinity gradient energy can be a viable energy source. The researchers selected specific locations across Las Piñas, specifically Zapote and Las Piñas rivers, to show if the subject Location fits the conditions as a source of salinity gradient energy. Using the mathematical model expressed by Hsu et al. (2021), Location A can only generate approximately 0.0005 kWh per cubic meter of saltwater and freshwater mixed. Location B can only generate approximately 0.0004 kWh per cubic meter of saltwater and freshwater mixed. It would take 1000 and 1250 times the amount of fresh water and salt water from Location A and Location B, respectively, to match the energy output calculated by Hsu et al. The amount of energy harnessed from these rivers is insignificant due to its concentration difference.

REUSE OF ABANDONED MINE FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF RESOURCE-ASSET-CAPITAL: LITERATURE REVIEW AND PROSPECTS

In the increasingly urgent and significant context of energy structure adjustment and environmental protection, abandoned mines, as unique production byproducts, have gradually attracted widespread attention due to their environmental problem characteristics and potential resource features. From the perspective of resources, assets, and capital, this paper adopts the literature review approach to sort out the characteristics and conversion capabilities of abandoned mines at various stages in the process of value transformation, and explores the various stages, influencing factors, and evaluation methods involved in the process of reusing abandoned mines. By summarizing the theoretical research trends and practical applications of abandoned mine reuse, a conclusion of restoring the utilization value and economic value of other abandoned mines will be provide in this paper.

ASSESSING THE SAFETY OF AVS IN WEATHER CONDITIONS IN THE PHILIPPINES

Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) are capable of performing safety-critical control functions on their own by apprehending their environment through numerous sensor systems. However, there remain several limitations in regard to the AV sensors’ operability and performance under adverse weather conditions. Diminishing sensor operability may be extremely high risk and generally negatively affect the safety of AVs, which may cause complications on the road and the rider. This research assessed the safety of AVs in weather conditions in the Philippines. CARLA simulation is studied and programmed, with the most common AV sensors integrated into CARLA such as LiDAR, RADAR, and Lane Detection Camera. An extensive literature review is conducted to authenticate the simulation results due to the nature of the research – Conducted in a virtual world. The findings from CARLA in regard to the sensors’ operability under Philippine weather conditions are compared to standards set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The results are hypothesized to show that AVs are safe under Philippine weather conditions, as sensor operability under such weather conditions is expected to have a drop-off of no more than 30% compared to clear weather conditions.

THE IMPACT OF LECTURERS’ EDUCATIONAL LEVEL ON STUDENTS’ GRAMMATICAL ERRORS IN MUET: A QUASI-EXPERIMENTAL STUDY

Standardised tests such as the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) serve as key benchmarks of linguistic competency for Malaysian students. English language ability plays a pivotal role in today’s globalised environment, and standardised tests such as MUET serve as important benchmarks. It is generally accepted that the level of education and teaching that students receive from their professors is a significant impact in determining both their level of language proficiency and their performance on standardised language tests. However, the exact influence that the educational degrees of lecturers have on the grammatical precision of pupils has not yet been fully investigated. This study is designed to evaluate whether or not there is a significant association between the educational levels of instructors and the grammatical errors made by students studying for the MUET examination. The investigation will be conducted in a quasi-experimental fashion. In order to shed light on the potential influence that lecturers’ expertise may have on students’ language competency, a controlled comparison between groups of students who were exposed to lecturers with varied educational degrees will be done.

EXPLORING TECHNOLOGICAL ASPECT FOR GREEN BUILDING PRACTICES

Reducing carbon emissions, ensuring energy security, and fostering economic growth are just a few of the many reasons why the sustainable development of green energy resources in the Indian environment is so important. When pursuing renewable energy, India must take into account a number of elements that are specific to the country if it is to achieve sustainable growth. A holistic strategy for societal advancement, sustainable development is a method that aims to strike a balance between economic expansion, social fairness, and the protection of the natural environment. Its goal is to fulfil people’s requirements in the here and now without jeopardising the capacity of future generations to do the same for themselves. The management of resources responsibly, the reduction of pollution and waste, the promotion of social inclusion and equity, and the encouragement of innovation are essential key values.

FOOD SAFETY PRACTICES OF FOOD SERVICE ESTABLISHMENT IN LCUP: BASIS FOR CREATING HACCP PLAN

One of the most prevalent issues in the Philippines is faulty food safety, to which food establishments, particularly food establishments, are the main contributors and which may have an impact on inhabitants’ daily lives. The researcher conducted a study at one of the universities in Bulacan, Philippines to learn about vendors’ main issues and the procedures they follow to control food safety. With the help of a questionnaire, the researchers were able to identify the issue they were trying to solve in this study. Survey questionnaires were distributed using 25 willing suppliers to meet the researchers’ needs. The profiles of the respondents make up the survey’s composition. Suppliers, including how long they have been in business, how they manage their food safety measures following the legislation and the typical issues they have encountered while putting their policies into practice. The establishment has its management and practice methods, and according to the results, however, their activities did not diminish the establishment’s practices for food safety. These issues were identified as people tossing and sorting their waste improperly. The methods they will employ to ensure food safety, environmental sanitation, and the equipment utilized for cooking are merely general instructions. Even though they can keep the establishment clean, they still need to improve the food they provide.
